Studio 118,  was founded in 2020.  Studio 118 originated  in a big long green building off the 5 Freeway in Anaheim, California.  Founder, who worked in this big long green building in Anaheim joked around with his colleagues about starting his own firm one day.   The big long green building is one of the offices of globally, the best design firm in the world.  The founder of Studio 118 worked as a senior specialist in the big long green building with some of the best architects, engineers, designers and imagineers in the industry. He learned a few things working alongside these talented professionals, for example to think outside the box and make the impossible possible!  He was mentored by architects and engineers in this design firm inside the big long green building off the 5 freeway in Anaheim, California- it was magical. Then 2020 came along and it all ended, which turned into the start of a new beginning and Studio 118, was formed.

Studio 118,  is a design firm pushing the limits to smart and efficient design.  Artificial Intelligence is moving extremely fast, and the AE industry is slowly falling behind. For example, drafting should be smart, quick and proficient.  Drawing as builts from point cloud should be a one step process instead of spending six to eight or twenty hours to develop the model. Imagine having a point cloud for house, uploading this point cloud onto a program and having the program mesh your point cloud into a solid model, which can be used as a floor plan within a matter of minutes?  

Another time-consuming task that should be quick is dimensioning, tagging and call outs. Imagine, you code your program to make all this happen in one step and within seconds you have a fully annotating floor plan for your construction documents? 

Imagine creating a floor plan on Revit. Then running a script that creates sheets, different views for each room, RCPs, crops the views, creates the four elevations ( NEWS) , assigns templates , places views on sheets, and places legends, key notes and schedules on the sheets for you. All by running a script our programmers created.  

Time to push the limit of the AE traditional slow time-consuming process , Studio 118 is stepping out of the tradition role of a design firm and working with computer engineers and programmers to automate tedious task by incorporating dynamo and grasshopper to push the boundaries and make the design process easier, faster and smarter!
